Eirigh Na Greine is a small batch single malt from Bunnahabhain, the distillery on the northern coast of Islay. It is bottled at 46.3% in a one litre bottle.
The batch is drawn from a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, with red wine casks added alongside them. The red wine casks bring sweet and spicy character to both the nose and the palate.
The nose offers dried fruit, hazelnuts, marzipan and buttery cake. On the palate it is round, with cherries, dried fruit, marmalade and a little cocoa, plus some salt and smoke. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with nutty notes.
