Bunnahabhain – Peated 10th Anniversary Bottling (55.1%)

This is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled at cask strength, 55.1% vol. It was chosen for a company's tenth anniversary and distilled in October 2014, the year that company was founded. It was bottled in December 2023. The whisky matured in a selected ex-bourbon cask, which lets the Islay character come through fully. The nose is maritime and smoky, with sweet caramel under a touch of sea salt and herbal notes. The palate mixes Islay smoke, peat, pepper and salty seaweed with caramel toffee and dried fruit. The finish is long, with smoke and seaweed growing stronger.
