This is an 11 year old heavily peated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, sold under the Staoisha name. Brave New Spirits bottled it for Islay Festival 2025 under the name "The Unpronounceable", at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel.
The nose brings intense campfire smoke, vanilla and caramel sweetness, and a light, salty citrus note. The palate is creamy and sweet with a nutty edge, dark honey and oily peat smoke over a gentle malty spice. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, roasted almonds, oak spice, toffee and a faint saltiness.
