Bunnahabhain – Stiùireadair (75cl, 46.3%)

Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair is the heavily peated single malt from an Islay distillery better known for its unpeated whisky. The name is Scottish Gaelic for 'helmsman'. It is matured in a combination of sherry casks and bourbon barrels, then bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill filtration. The sherry casks give it a richer, darker quality than Islay peated whiskies matured in bourbon barrels alone. The distillery stands at the northern tip of Islay, and this bottling sets its maritime character against heavy peat.
