This is a limited bottling of Bunnahabhain from Islay, distilled in 2012 and bottled by Signatory Vintage as The Coterie. It was bottled at 56.9% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The whisky spent 6 years in an ex-bourbon cask and then 2 further years in a rum cask.
The nose offers dark demerara sugar, caramel, ripe banana, tropical fruit and prunes, with a hint of red chilli and tobacco. The palate brings candied fruit, white chocolate truffle, a trace of coconut, sweet oak and Caribbean allspice. The finish is intense and long.
