Bunnahabhain – Toiteach a Dhà (46.3%)

Toiteach a Dhà is a Bunnahabhain single malt from Islay, the follow-up to Toiteach, the distillery's first smoky whisky. The name means roughly 'smoke number two'. It was matured in ex-bourbon and former Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46.3%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The nose has beach-fire smoke and a clear salty sea breeze, then sweet fruit, caramel, a little sherry, oak and leather. The palate opens softly with smoke and maritime notes, followed by orange, ripe apple, raisin, red berries, salted caramel, shortbread, dark chocolate and oak. The finish is medium in length, warm, spicy and smoky, with pepper, salt and dark chocolate.
