Bunnahabhain – Turas Math No. 1 15 Year Old (70cl, 55.9%)

Bunnahabhain Turas Math No. 1 is a single malt released by the Islay distillery for the 2025 Feis Ile. It is bottled at 55.9% in a 70cl bottle, and the name nods to the distillery's first 12 year old bottling of the late 1980s. All the spirit was distilled in 2008 and filled into two kinds of cask. One part spent the full 15 years in Manzanilla sherry casks from Jerez. The other began in refill casks for 10 years, then finished for 5 years in Amarone casks from the Veneto in Italy. The colour is pecan brown. The nose offers black cherries, plums and blackberries with cloves and roasted nuts. On the palate come cinnamon pastries, treacle toffee, hazelnut, dried figs and soft herbal notes. The finish is warm and spicy, with a hint of sea spray.
