Bushmills 16 Year Old is a triple-distilled Irish single malt from County Antrim, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky spends around fifteen years in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, then roughly nine months in Portuguese port pipes. It is made from malted barley and distilled in copper pot stills.
Candied cherry, walnut, plum and dried grape skins mark the nose, with almond and toffee beneath. On the palate come dried figs, port sweetness, almond, praline, vanilla and honey. The finish is long, with dark chocolate and dried fruit.
