Bushmills 26 Year Old Crystal Malt is an Irish single malt aged for 26 years in oak. It is built around crystal malt, which is made through an unusual malting process that crystallises the sugars in the barley during kilning. This gives the whiskey flavour before distillation, rather than relying only on the oak. The crystal malt brings an intense caramel and creamy chocolate character to the distillate, and that character stays with the whiskey through the decades in cask.
