Bushmills 26 Year Old Crystal Malt is a triple-distilled Irish single malt made from crystal malt, barley that is roasted after malting to bring out caramel and chocolate notes. It was made at the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
The spirit was filled on 20 November 1997 into first-fill bourbon barrels from Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky and matured for 26 years. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, in a 75cl bottle.
The official notes describe a nose of honeyed apples, mellow wood and warm caramel. The palate offers creamy butterscotch, crème brûlée, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, spiced pear and vanilla, and the finish is warm and smooth with gentle oak, honeyed apples and pears.
