Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year Old Amarone Casks is a limited-edition Irish single malt, bottled at 47.3% ABV. It is made from malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills.
The whiskey was matured first in American bourbon barrels and Spanish oloroso sherry casks, then given an extended finish of around six years in Italian Amarone casks from the Valpolicella region. It belongs to the Bushmills Private Reserve Collection.
The nose offers red grape, dark cherry and dried fig, with clove, five-spice and soft vanilla. The palate is thick, with ripe plum, blackberry, vanilla creaminess, cinnamon and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with lingering ripe fruit and soft oak spice, closing dry.
