Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year Old is an Irish single malt finished in Portuguese Moscatel wine casks, bottled at 48.5% ABV. It belongs to the Bushmills Private Reserve series.
The whiskey is made from malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills, and first matured for about six years in American bourbon barrels and Spanish oloroso sherry casks. It then spends a minimum of about four years in Moscatel casks, which give it a rose-gold hue.
The nose is floral, with dried flowers, rose water and orange blossom over caramelised sugar and honeyed citrus zest. The palate brings vanilla, mandarin, peach and apricot with gentle oak spice. The finish is fruit-sweet and gently dry, with lingering citrus.
