This is a 21-year-old triple-distilled Irish single malt from Bushmills in County Antrim, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle.
Around 19 years of maturation in ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks were followed by a two-year finish in Madeira casks. Bushmills holds a distilling licence dating to 1608.
The nose is honeyed, with dried figs, raisins, roasted hazelnuts, baking spice, orange peel and caramel. The palate is soft and syrupy, with toffee, vanilla, dried apricot, fig, forest honey, toasted oak and banana bread. The finish is long and clean, with raisin, vanilla, date and blackberry.
