This is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt from Craigellachie, bottled by Wm. Cadenhead at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and free from artificial colouring.
The whisky was matured in two kinds of cask: a refill sherry butt, making up 65% of the vatting, and a fresh Madeira cask, making up the other 35%.
The nose is ripe peaches, toffee sauce and sugar cane over a honeyed warmth. Cherries and plums lead the palate, followed by a dense date and walnut loaf character with a nutty note from the Madeira. The finish is medium to long and creamy, with icing sugar, biscuit and gentle spice.
