Cadenhead Creations Light Fruity Sherry is a 44 year old blend of Glenfarclas, Glenlivet and Invergordon grain whiskies, released as Batch 1. The Creations range gathers blends, blended malts and blended grains chosen to fit one of four flavour profiles.
The components were married for a final year in a fresh sherry hogshead.
The nose offers fudge, macadamia nuts, prunes and soft wood spices. The palate brings whipped cream, dark cherries and a rye-like spice, and the short finish recalls shortcrust pastry with sherry and vanilla playing against each other.
