This is a 12 year old BenRiach-Glenlivet, distilled at BenRiach Distillery in Speyside in 2012 and selected by Cadenhead's, Scotland's oldest independent bottler.
The whisky matured for twelve years and was then finished in Amontillado sherry hogsheads from 2022 onward. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers dates, honeyed vanilla custard, toasted almonds, ginger and star anise. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with stone fruit, citrus zest and maraschino cherry, then soft oak and sherry nuttiness. The finish brings banoffee pie, tangerine peel and sponge cake, with a light, warming spice.
