Cadenhead's Enigma 27 Year Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky bottled at 51.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1997, matured for 27 years in a bourbon hogshead and bottled in September 2024.
It is a teaspooned whisky, meaning a tiny measure of one malt has been added to another, which is why it is sold as a blended malt. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers custard creams, pears, cinnamon, warm pastry and butterscotch mousse. The palate brings sweet oat biscuits, honeycomb, nutmeg and gooseberries, and the finish shows mint leaves, white grapes, treacle and root ginger.
