Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Old is a heavily peated blended malt Scotch whisky from Mossburn Distillers & Blenders. It is blended from peated single malts distilled on the islands of Scotland, all aged for at least 12 years, and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without colouring or chill filtration. The whisky spends its full 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads. It is then re-aged for five years in American oak barrels that held Oloroso, and again in European oak butts seasoned with Oloroso in Spain, which form a solera. The name belongs to a castle on Skye, once a stronghold that helped Clan Macleod secure the Sleat peninsula.
