Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Old is a peated blended malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made from Island malts matured for more than a decade in refill American oak hogsheads.
A final maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, including an in-house solera system, tempers the peat and adds sherried depth to the maritime smokiness of the blend.
The nose offers soft peat smoke with dried fruits, spiced oak and a little sea brine. On the palate, phenolic notes meet raisins, cinnamon and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, slightly saline and smoky.
