Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky matured for 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads, then re-aged in two stages.
The first is in 230-litre American oak barrels that held Oloroso sherry for five years, sourced from a bodega in Jerez de la Frontera. The second is in specially coopered 500-litre European oak butts seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Spain.
It is described as sweet vanilla, honeyed notes and rich nuttiness.
