Caledonian 1976/2026 50 Year Old Single Grain Hogshead - Cask Strength Collection (70cl, 52.6%)

A 50 year old single grain whisky from Caledonian, distilled on 10 April 1976 and matured in a single hogshead. Signatory Vintage chose it in 2026 for the 50th anniversary edition of its Cask Strength Collection and bottled it at a natural 52.6%, without chill filtration or added colour, in a 70cl bottle. The cask gave 213 bottles. Caledonian was founded in 1855 near Haymarket station in Edinburgh and closed in 1988. It made grain whisky on a continuous Coffey still. The nose is vanilla and sweet caramel with beeswax, subtle grain and early oak. The palate is creamy and full, with toffee, vanilla and baked grain, and clear oak gives it structure. The finish is long and dry, with oak to the fore, gentle vanilla sweetness and a fine herbal note.
