Caledonian – 39 Year Old 1980 Private Collection

Caledonian 39 Year Old 1980 is a Lowland single grain Scotch whisky from the closed Caledonian distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection. It was distilled on 3rd August 1980 and matured in a single refill American hogshead until it was bottled at natural cask strength on 13th August 2020. Only 111 hand-blown crystal decanters were produced. The refill American oak is described as bringing layers of vanilla, coconut, soft spice and polished oak, with a silky texture.
