California Cowboy Bourbon is a straight bourbon bottled at 44% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled in Kentucky, aged for a minimum of two years in new charred American oak, and bottled in California by the Sonoma County brand.
The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% barley, with no added flavours or colouring. The brand says a portion of proceeds supports the Wild Horse Sanctuary in Shingletown, California.
The nose is sweet summer fruit and honey with caramelised oak. The palate offers vanilla, sweet corn and malt, with oak and spice settling into a nutty note. The finish is clean and smooth, with a mild, warm kick.
