Calumet Farm 16 Year Old Single Rack Black is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 53% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and was barrelled in March 2006.
Each batch comes from 19 barrels that aged side by side on a single rack in the rickhouse, rather than from a blend across the warehouse. The mash bill is 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley, and the whisky has spent its sixteen years in new charred oak.
It is described as a deep, oak-driven bourbon, with dark caramel, leather and dried dark fruit up front and rye spice of cinnamon and clove underneath. The finish is long and warming.
