Calumet Farm 8 Year Old is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV) in a 75cl bottle.
The brand takes its name from Calumet Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, established in 1924 by William Monroe Wright, owner of the Calumet Baking Powder Company. The farm went on to win eight Kentucky Derbies and two Triple Crowns.
The colour is deep amber with golden highlights. The nose is full and rich, with aged oak and deep vanilla. The palate opens with vanilla and fruit, then soft white pepper and a full woody character. The finish is balanced and sweet, with a subtle caramel that warms the palate.
