Calumet Farm 8 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle from small batches of fewer than 50 barrels. The barrels are hand-selected for each batch.
The mash bill is 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley, and the bourbon spends eight years in charred American oak. The colour is deep amber with golden highlights.
The nose is full and rich, with aged oak and deep vanilla. On the palate, vanilla and fruit come first, followed by soft white pepper and a full woody character. The finish is balanced and sweet, with a subtle caramel flavour that warms the palate as it fades.
