Cameron Bridge 26 Year Old Special Release 2022 (56.2%)

This is a 26 year old single grain whisky from Cameronbridge, a distillery founded in 1824. It is part of the 2022 Special Releases and is bottled at a cask strength of 56.2%. On the nose it is spiced grain and sweetness, with ripe mango, papaya and pea pods, then toffee and light oak shavings. The palate is silky, with intense butterscotch sweetness that softens into rich caramel. The finish is short and fairly intense, with warming chilli spice. A little water brings out cinnamon bun and salted toffee on the nose, and turns the palate towards creamy milk chocolate.
