Canadian Club 1858 is a Canadian blended whisky made mainly from rye. The brand dates from 1858, when Hiram Walker, a grain merchant in Walkerville, Ontario, set out to make high quality Canadian whisky. It comes in a 1 litre bottle. The whisky is blended before it is aged, and then spends three years in ex-sherry American oak casks. The nose recalls caramel, aniseed, wild fennel and dried fruit. The palate is soft and tasty, with fruity and honeyed notes alongside oak and vanilla.
