Canadian Club Canadian Whisky is a blended Canadian whisky aged for six years in American bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle.
Its grain spirits, made from rye, rye malt, malted barley and corn, are blended before they go into charred white oak barrels, not afterwards. The distillery in Walkerville, Ontario, has been making whisky since 1858.
The nose is fresh and soft, with almond, cut grass, peppery rye and a faint cornflake sweetness. The palate is gently sweet with caramel and vanilla, then rye spice, nutmeg, toasted oak and a little molasses. The finish is clean and dry, with oak and a touch of pepper.
