Candolini Bianca Grappa (1L, 40%)

Candolini Bianca is an unaged white grappa from Italy, made by Fratelli Branca Distillerie of Milan, the house behind Fernet-Branca. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle shaped after a traditional 19th-century style. The spirit is distilled largely from free-running grape juice together with the pips and stems, rather than from pomace alone. It is not aged in oak, so it reaches the glass crystal-clear. On the nose it is fresh crushed grape with light floral and herbal notes. The palate is soft and juicy, with a dried-fruit edge and gentle spice, and the finish is clean, warming and persistent. It is traditionally poured after a meal as a digestivo, at room temperature or slightly chilled.
