Cantina Mesa Galesa 2022 Valli di Porto Pino IGT

Galesa is a white wine from Cantina Mesa in the Sulcis area of south-west Sardinia, labelled Valli di Porto Pino IGT. It is made from native grapes grown on alluvial soils rich in sandstone, sand and minerals. The grapes are picked by hand, destemmed and fermented on their skins in steel. Fermentation is finished and the wine aged in oak for six months, followed by about fifteen months between steel and bottle. The nose offers papaya, mango and pink grapefruit, then aromatic herbs, lemon balm and flint, closing on sweet spice. The palate is fruity, fresh and lively, ending in a persistent saline finish.
