This is a ten-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by independent bottler Wilson & Morgan at 57.7% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent ten years maturing in total, including an 18-month finish in Pedro Ximénez casks, which brings winey fruit alongside the distillery's smoke.
The nose is fruity, with cherries, figs and citrus peel mixed with bonfire smoke and a hint of roadworks. On the palate there is more orange peel and red fruit, with earthiness, eucalyptus and a dash of balsamic vinegar. The finish is long and mineral, with a crack of black pepper.
