This is a 10-year-old Caol Ila single malt from Islay, distilled in August 2015 and matured in a bourbon cask. It was released in 2026 as a single cask bottling in The Cooper's Choice, The Golden Cut Collection, by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co Ltd., with 348 bottles at 50% ABV. It has no added colour and is not chill-filtered.
Citrus smoke, seaweed and lemony peat ash mark the nose. The palate is oily and robust, with smoky bacon, salted barley water and more peat carrying a medicinal note. The finish is salty and ashy, with long-lasting oils and sweet smoke.
