This is a 13 year old Caol Ila bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, a single malt in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is smoky and marine, with firm but not coarse peat, sweet smoke, citrus peel and a hint of iodine, softened by malt and a few earthy details. On the palate, structure and freshness are balanced, with a savoury edge, light spice and a faint cereal sweetness.
The finish is long, with citrus returns that temper the peat and leave a pleasant dryness.
