This is a 30 year old Caol Ila single malt from Islay, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as number 13 in the LMDW Artist Collection. It was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2023, with 266 bottles produced at 52.6% ABV.
The whisky was matured in a refill bourbon hogshead, and the label artwork is by Claire Barclay.
The nose has citrus, dried apricot and blackberry with a subtle spice. On the palate come vanilla, honey and smoked almond with a ripe pear accent, and the finish is long and warming, with hints of salted caramel and wood.
