Caol Ila – 1996 - Connoisseurs Choice is a single malt whisky from Caol Ila (Islay). Bottled at 43% ABV, 70cl. Caol Ila distillery sits on the eastern shore of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay from which it takes its Gaelic name. One of the island's largest distilleries, it has long been a cornerstone of Islay's whisky production and is today a key component in many blends as well as being bottled as a single malt. Distilled at Caol Ila in 1996 and bottled in 2008 by Gordon & MacPhail under their long-running Connoisseurs Choice series, this expression was matured in 1st Fill and Refill Sherry Casks and bottled at 43% ABV.
