Caol Ila – 20 Year Old 150th Anniversary (70cl, 57.9%)

This is the Caol Ila 20 Year Old 150th Anniversary, an Islay single malt celebrating the distillery's 150th anniversary. It was bottled in 1996 at 57.86% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from whisky distilled in the 1970s. The bottle carries the names of Caol Ila staff from 1996. The nose brings orange zest, ripe pear and dried apricot, with clove, chamomile and toasted oak. Toffee and dark chocolate on the palate come with spiced apple and roasted nuts, and the finish is long and warming, with caramel and gentle smoke.
