An unpeated Caol Ila from Islay, bottled by Little Brown Dog. It was distilled on 27 December 2013 and bottled on 5 May 2026 after 12 years in two refill bourbon barrels, with 384 bottles filled.
Little Brown Dog took its cue from the old Diageo Special Releases and chose refill bourbon wood rather than sherry. The label plays on the absence of peat, with a nod to Peter Green and the Fleetwood Mac album Kiln House.
The nose brings lemon zest, creamy vanilla, fresh barley and a gentle sea breeze. On the palate come honeyed malt, orchard fruits, soft spice and light coastal salinity. The finish is long and clean, with citrus oils and vanilla.
