A 24-year-old Islay single malt released for Caol Ila's 175th anniversary, marking the east-facing distillery's opening in 1846. It is a limited edition of 3000 bottles, bottled at 52.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is intense, with smoke, ash, sweet oak and oranges. On the palate it is powerful, sweet and smoky with ripe oranges and liquorice, then peppery, spicy and salty. The finish is long, balancing sweet smoke, pepper and oak.
