Caol Ila Distillers Edition 1996-2009 is an Islay single malt, distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2009 at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. After maturing in oak, it was finished in Moscatel wood. It belongs to Diageo's Classic Malts Distillers Editions.
The nose offers subtle honey, a touch of iodine, a hint of dates and soft bonfire smoke. On the palate, sweetness comes first and blends with peat smoke. The finish is long, dry and lightly sweet, with a little spice and lingering smoke.
