Caol Ila Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt from Scotland in a 70cl bottle. It is made from peated malt and given a second maturation in ex-Moscatel casks, which adds fruity sweetness to the island's smoky style.
The nose is complex, with sea smoke, seaweed, damp peat, sweet citrus, honey and muscat grape. The palate is smoky, fruity and briny, with peat, honey, yellow fruit and vanilla.
The finish balances smoke with the sweetness of the Moscatel.
