Caol Ila Distillers Edition is a whisky from the Islay distillery, in a 1 litre bottle.
It is double matured, with the second stage in casks that previously held fortified wine, adding sweet and spicy notes.
The nose is gently smoky with peat, ripe fruit and a base of vanilla. On the palate a rich malt character meets dark chocolate, cinnamon and a little black pepper, and the finish carries a lasting maritime note.
