Caol Ila Moch is a peated single malt from the Caol Ila distillery, founded in 1846 on the strait between Islay and Jura. It is made from malted barley only, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
Moch is a Gaelic word meaning dawn, chosen to suggest a starting point.
The colour is a pale, bright straw. The nose is lemon and ripe fruit with custard and sun-dried grass, over faint smoke. The palate is robust yet soft and silky, with smoke and peat, and the finish is slow, fairly dry and lasting.
