This is a 50 year old single malt from Caperdonich, bottled by Duncan Taylor in its Rarest series in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1969, matured in oak cask 3253 and bottled in 2020 at its natural cask strength of 47.9% ABV. Only 88 bottles were produced. Caperdonich was built in 1898 as Glen Grant No.2. It closed in 1902, was revived after more than sixty years, and closed again in 2002, with the last buildings demolished in 2011. The nose is rich, with malty sweetness. The palate offers caramel latte with cinnamon, and the long finish brings gentle warming spices and sweet toasted oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
