Carsebridge – 48 Year Old 2018 Release (70cl)

This is a 48 year old single grain whisky from Carsebridge, issued as the 2018 release in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a refill American oak hogshead. The nose is sweet and floral, with dried flowers and oil in a dusty oak drawer, alongside very ripe plum, peach and red apple, then sawn oak, mint and white chocolate truffle. On the palate there is juicy apple, oak shavings and gentle spice, with a soft, fleeting floral note. The finish is discreet, with light wood, grape stems, raisins and a little oiled wood.
