Cascahuín 48 Plata is an unaged blanco tequila bottled at 48% ABV (96 proof) without filtration. It is made at Destilería Cascahuín (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco.
The tequila comes from 100% mature Blue Weber agave, slow-roasted in stone ovens, crushed with a roller mill and fermented naturally using deep well water. It is distilled twice in stainless steel stills with copper coils.
The nose is of cooked agave, herbs, white pepper, citrus rind, mint and a light minerality. The palate is firmly agave-led, with roasted agave, black pepper, green herbs and saline notes balanced by a touch of sweetness. The finish is long, dry and spicy.
