Cask Orkney is a 15 year old Orkney single malt Scotch whisky bottled by A.D. Rattray as part of its Casks of Scotland range, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was created to celebrate the history, landscape and character of the Orkney Islands.
Fifteen years in ex-bourbon casks bring together honeyed, fruity island malt, aromatic heather, warming spice and a gentle thread of smoke.
The nose offers clover honey, Parma violet and ripe peach, then heather and smoky embers. On the palate are grilled plum and barley sugar, then herbal hops, caraway and spice. The finish is long and gently smoky, with pepper, tart citrus and fresh pine.
