A red wine from Valtellina made entirely from Nebbiolo, locally called Chiavennasca, grown on terraced vineyards.
It is aged in barrique, giving notes of vanilla, black pepper, tobacco and leather alongside ripe red fruit and plum. On the palate it is robust yet harmonious, with structured tannins, persistent freshness and a mineral character.
The finish is long, with berry fruit and a light balsamic note.
