A Barolo DOCG from Piedmont, made entirely from Nebbiolo. It shows an intense garnet red colour that develops orange tinges with age. The nose is complex and deep, with ripe red fruit such as cherry and raspberry, plus tobacco, leather, vanilla and chocolate from wood ageing. On the palate it is full-bodied and well structured, with robust yet elegant tannins and earthy, spicy flavours. The finish is long and persistent. It is aged for at least 24 months in oak barrels, then refined in bottle. Serve with red meat roasts, game and aged cheeses; decant for at least an hour.
