Castello dei Monaci Piluna Primitivo Salento IGT

A red wine from Castello dei Monaci, made exclusively from Primitivo grapes selected from vineyards in the heart of Salento. The name Piluna comes from the ancient Greek word for terracotta. It is deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, with sweet spice and a light touch of vanilla from wood ageing. On the palate it is full and enveloping, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish with a pleasant spicy note. It pairs well with grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses.
